Project 1: Aranh Sakor CFC High School, Cambodia
Date: March 26, 2024 Impact: 50 Laptops Donated / 40 Students & Faculty Educated
Overview
Our inaugural mission to Cambodia was made possible through a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the support of Caring for Cambodia (CFC). This pilot project demonstrated our "Circular Tech Economy" model by transforming corporate resources into high-performance educational tools for students.
Key Initiatives: Interactive Education
Dynamic Learning Experience: We didn't just lecture; we engaged students through interactive quizzes and hands-on demonstrations to ensure the concepts were practical and memorable.
Comprehensive Digital Curriculum: Delivered in-depth sessions on Digital Literacy, Internet Safety, and Social Media Ethics.
Hardware Maintenance: Conducted workshops on basic laptop maintenance, teaching students how to care for their new technology to ensure its longevity.
Institutional Impact & Recognition
First-of-its-Kind Curriculum: School officials noted that this was the first time their students had ever received formal Digital Literacy education. Our curriculum filled a critical gap in their existing educational framework.
Knowledge Sharing: The school faculty was so impressed by the quality of our materials that they requested our original PowerPoint presentations to use as a permanent teaching resource for future classes. We were honored to share our work to ensure the impact continues long after our departure.
Reflections
Seeing the students' excitement during the quizzes and the teachers' commitment to continuing our lessons validated our mission. We are grateful to AWS for the laptops and to CFC for the opportunity to connect with such eager learners.
